So I currently have a full time job 8-5 monday through friday that pays 12 an hour, and i just got offered a long term open ended contract job with IBM that pays 16 an hour, 3rd shift. The obvious perks to the contract job is more pay, and i get benefits from day 1 and i’d have IBM as both a reference and experience on my resume. Where as the job im currently at is only medical after 6 months and no 401k, no life insurance, and isn’t quite what i wanna do (construction for cable company). So my question is, which do i go with? Do i go with the new job that i’d like more and pays more, but is a long term open ended cotract? or stay with the full time less paying job?

What is the best way to start a new career as an insurance adjuster? Is it a good idea to get a Texas lic. 1st?
Saturday, October 24th, 2009I am a remodeling contractor now ,but am looking for a career change.I thought that my 20 years experience in the construction field could be an asset. Should I consider a non resident Texas lic. as a starting point? Please take into consideration that this would be without a college background.

Is becoming a home inspector in IN worth the trouble?
Friday, October 9th, 2009I am think about becoming a home inspector in the State of Indiana and am just wondering if it is worth the trouble. I have a pretty extensive background in the construction trades so am not completely without knowledge or this field, but would still like to get some idea of the earning power of a licensed home inspector in the State of Indiana and or the job outlook for this career. I know what kind of training is involved and insurance requirements and all that, I just don’t know if it’s all worth it or not.
