One says : You may terminate the insurance policy by process-server…
The other one goes like this: The contract may be terminated by a process served by a bailiff…
I’m guessing it also depends which English Speaking country you’re living in.. but at this point I’m just concerned with finding one that’s correct :-p
Neither construction seems to get many hits when I google them and I can’t find the word I need in my trusty dictionary :-p

If you want to cancel a policy, you should be able to simply write a letter stating that you wish your policy to be cancelled, and give them the desired effective date of termination. Some companies ask that you give them a reason for termination as part of something like a customer satisfaction survey.
Sign the cancellation request. You may want to have someone witness it (just a suggestion to cover all your bases.)
