I don’t know what to do. Should we move out or stay with my in laws?

mommy asked:

I am 3 months pregnant. My husband and I live with his parents. Within this house are my in laws, my husband’s aunt and uncle with their 2 kids, his other uncle, and his sister. While living here, I am going to school full-time. My husband hasn’t been working for about 6 months now. We don’t have insurance for our kid but I have public aid right now.

My husband has been looking for a factory job for a few months. No luck. That’s the only way to get insurance for the kid. He’s great with construction work but it’s so slow right now. He got offered a job in Chicago, about an hour away from where we are. For a handyman for an apartment complex. The pay is $400 a week and a free 1bedroom apartment but no medical insurance. I dropped half my classes to try to find a full-time job.

Should we move to Chicago and I find a full-time job with medical insurance there to help with his $400 a month or should we stay with his in laws until he finds a factory job that offers insurance while I work full-time here???

I am so depressed. Don’t know what to do.

Should this college student start a painting business?

College Painter asked:

My parents are landlords and I have experience working with my dad painting the interior of the units between tenants. I believe there is a need in my area for apartment painting. I have an entrepreuener mind and am willing to put in the planning to make this work.
A huge bonus to this was the thought that I would have little start up costs, already having the materials in my garage at home. But I have found that I would probably need contractors insurance. This has crushed my dream.
Can I just have the client sign a waiver of any liablility? I can’t see it being worth my efforts if I have to come up with insurance money. I will not get hurt and will not undertake a job I can’t finish.
Do I need some sort of a license (NY state)?
Any other expenses?
I know that I will never be successful without being able to say I have insurance, but I am just looking to make money over the next 2 years while providing a great paint job this energetic student will provide. Is it worth it?
